The Bucks County Commissioners' Advisory Council for Women consists of 15 volunteers who have been appointed for a 3 year term by the Bucks County Commissioners.

The goal of the Bucks County Commissioners' Advisory Council for Women is to stimulate public dialogue of important issues to women and community; foster creative solutions; affirm the importance of the meaningful involvement of women in all levels of society, business and government; and to empower women in achieving their potential.
Over the years the Council has become known for its involvement in several notable and on going projects, as well as notable "one time only" events.

This annual event is co-sponsored with several Women's organizations and is an occasion to acknowledge and celebrate Bucks County's own talented and dedicated women.
For twentyfive years the Council has organized this exciting event each October with the Bucks County Community College
- Legislative Forum on Women's Issues
This annual event helped draw attention to critical issues of health, safety, welfare, economics and political concerns of the women of Bucks County.
The Council has produced and funded videos, conducted needs assessments, held special forums and workshops, researched and published special directories and reports, contributed to scholarship programs and educated the public on a variety of issues of concern to women.
The Advisory Council for Women worked closely with the Bucks County Community College from 1999 to 2002 to establish the desire and support for the development of a Women's Center to be located on the BCCC' Newtown campus.
Members of the Advisory Council participated in Bucks County Community College's Women's Studies Advisory Committee process to develop degree and certificate program status for Women's Studies at BCCC.
